Who We Are

Manos Unidas Peru is a Non-Governmental Organization founded in 2008 in Cusco, Peru. We provide quality education and teacher training opportunities to serve children and young adults from all social classes with developmental disabilities, down syndrome, autism and cerebral palsy.  Our mission is to implement programs that facilitate successful inclusive educational and work opportunities for persons with special needs in the Andean region

Our Mission

  • To serve as role models for successful student learning
  • To teach families how to be advocates for their children
  • To train teachers in the best special education practices
  • To address a community’s fear, neglect and maltreatment of children with special needs
  • To teach children the necessary skills for actively participating within their families, schools and community
  • To break the pattern of educating children with special needs in isolated settings by creating a successful inclusion model for regular education schools
  • To prepare young adults with independent living skills 

  • To prepare young adults for employment according to their strengths and abilities
